The End Of The World?

A bit of a TV thing today. Last night i watched a program on the History channel about the ‘lost’ predictions of Nostradamus! A couple of things sprang to mind!

First was the fact that there was no proof that the document for by Nostrodamus! - The water colours were well above his standard, some of the writing wasn’t his and the ink used was not used at the time of his life!.

Second I have an issue with the interpretations of the predictions. I always find that many predictions of this kind are always better with hindsight - “…oh he ment Hitler…, that looks like 9/11…etc.

Third was the fact that the end of the world was predicted by certain stars and orbits. Stars change, orbits change, so why would the orbits that we see be the same as Nostradamus saw? The night sky was a different place when dinosaurs roamed the earth, and it will be in 500 years!

I also take issue (as i do in cases like this) with the “end of the world” people say that if we continue polluting, that we will cause the end of the world, or if there is an nuclear war. This will NOT cause the end of the world, this world has survived worse and will be around after us! - This will not cause the end of life, life finds a way to carry on. oxygen used to be a deadly gas untill animals evolved to breath it from the lowlyest pond life. CO2 is deadly to use, but plants seem to do ok with it! So we may wipeout mankind, but life and the earth will carry on…

Oh and according to the TV, the world will end in 2012! - Don’t bother buying tickets for the Olympics!
