Good Riddance

With the news that Joey Barton has been sent down for 6 months I say good!

Joey Barton was already on bail for previous offences when he decided to go out on the lash and down over 10 pints of lager. After doing so, he got in a fight and smashed the teeth out a 16 year old.

This wasn’t a foul on the football pitch, this wasn’t even a Kung Fu kick over the railings, this was an utter moron deciding he was ‘billy big b*llocks’ thinking he could do what he wanted.

I’ve seen fights like that outside of pubs, we’ve all seen in the news about people who have been stabbed in fights and killed. All it would have taken was a fall onto a curb and Barton would have been doing a lot longer.

Barton deserves some sort of ban for bringing the game into disrepute from the FA, Newcastle need to punish him too as they were his club at the time. God forbid a player, out on bail, would have done that under Ferguson or Clough!

As it is I think 6 months is not long enough - reading into the story, he only got 4 months for the assualt and 2 for afray! This was someone who broke his previous bail conditions - that show disrespect to the justice system. That should be 6 months for a start!

Barton is a troublemaker who believes his own hype, i’m glad he’s going down and i hope the little scrote’s time in jail is utterly miserable.
