What with the work on my house, we are temporally without a front door. The old one has been blocked in, and the new one needs to be delivered and put in place. Because of this there is no letterbox. Usually the post has been handed to the builders, but I haven’t got any recently I thought I’d better check it out.
First I went to our local sorting office to find out what the score would be, but they shut at 5.00pm and I got there at 5.30pm - fair enough.
I decided to try on the phone. I only wanted to find out if the mail would be re-delivered or returned to sender.
I dialled direct enquiries for the local number:
“I’m sorry, there is only a main number for all depots…”
Fair enough, I thought and dialled the number.
What followed was about half an hour on the phone trying to speak to a human. Most of these machines have a part which says “for all other enquires, press 5″ or equivilant.
Not Royal Mail. I tried all of them.
In my frustration I decided to get put through to complaints - at least then I would speak to someone living!
“To complain about a delivery, press 1…..to complain about international, press 2……………….!!!”
Aaarrrggghhhh
Finally I pressed ‘1′ only to get….
“I’m sorry, all our operators are on hold at the moment, to leave a message press…………………”
I nearly cried

A long title I know!……
First of all, an update - I have added to the COMICS page some details on some of the online comics that I read. Please feel free to add your own, there is a comments section on this blog you know!
I recently got the Iron Fist collection “The Seven Capital Cities of Heaven” - This is a great series, which although may be confusing to some, has a great and simple storyline. Iron Fist has always been a favourite character of mine - even when he was in Power Man & Iron Fist. The story works on so many levels, but my personal favourite parts are when the Immortal Weapons are fighting, the names are displayed or shouted like old school Kung Fu Movies.
How long until the Immortal Weapons get there own mini series? Maybe under the Marvel Knights or MAX banner?

“The Resurrection of Ra’s al Ghul” is the collection of the series taken from the Batman comics, I am pleased that this was done so well as Ra’s is a great character. He is so different from the others in Batmans rouges gallery - many seem to be just mental!
We haven’t seen much of Ra’s - hopefully he will make an appearance after Batman: RIP is concluded!

Another busy weekend for me - we spent Saturday morning looking at kitchens, lucky for me the Wife didn’t choose the pink sparkly worktop. We had a good idea of which one we wanted so that wasn’t a problem! We also chose a front door and a garage door.
Sunday was spent in the rain watching Kieron play rugby - perfect weather for it so thats good for him….not so for spectators!
Still be doing a lot of drawing - so far a a horror trio - Zombie, Dracula & Frankensteins Monster
(It annoys me when he refered to as ‘Frankenstein’ - he was the doctor, not the monste)r
I’m also now going through a supervillian rouge list - so far Two-Face, Joke and Penguin (Villians are so much better visually!)
*Late EDF bill has been paid - you would think I’d get a discount for the work I do for them. And I still can’t find the N-Power one!
** The house is cracking on - its pretty much 4 walls and a roof!
Yay Me

Back to the Future 2: Alternative Ending - This alternative ending to Back tot he Future would cut the runtime of the film down to a brisk 23 minutes and eliminate the need for that whole third movie.
Feeling relaxed? - An advert for a hotel chain!
Forbidden Planet Trailer - I love this movie
The ball is back - Stop motion animation made by the ginger one from B3ta for the secret policemans ball
The sale of Newcastle United FC - Hitler takes it badly (potential NSFW - bad words to read!)

Remember: Amateurs built the Ark….professionals built Titanic!

What a crazy weekend. We have finally moved out of our house, so I will be without an internet connection at home for a while - but since all that means is I won’t be able to go on facebook, i’m not too fussed!
Forget everything I ever said about my brother - he managed to get me the special edition of The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen - The Black Dossier!. I have had a brief flick through it and realsise that its going to take a while to properly read!
Although I got in this morning and my Google reader showed 300+ articles to read, there wasn’t any that were any good, so no links today!
I’m missing out on Airsoft next week as me and my darling wife are going to see Lee Evens in Brighton
Fifa ‘09 is out on Friday so I will probably have some comments on that too!
*Yes, you heard - my dog is no longer allowed to eat lamb - there were evil smells coming out of its butt all last night!

What’s homework to a schoolchild but work, work, work?
According to Tiffin boys’ school in Kingston-upon-Thames, south-west London, homework should be scrapped so their young strapping lads can do other things with their time.
So the school have cut the amount of homework the pupils are given to just minutes per night.
Click the link for more….
Is it me, or is this madness?! - I always had homework down as 50% preperation for what you are going to do and 50% revision for what you have done! - This is just daft it teaches kids how to manage their time and see if they can do any of the work themselves! - Another example of schools ‘dumbing down’!
Well Monday had its regular showing of ‘Dusk til Dawn’ on C4 and as per tradition I made time to watch it! I love that movie (Although I pretend its a one-off rather than a trilogy!)
I’m trying a new format with my posts now - instead of lots of short posts I am trying to make my posts have more of a dairy feel to them - although I don’t know how well these will work! Maybe they will be more meaningful!

I had Thursday & Friday off last week as we are currently moving out of our house for some work to do. I had to pack away the computer, so that has ramifications!
I won’t be doing any comics as my software is on my main pc, but I will still be drawing and scanning images! As I have my laptop and my printer/scanner!
My countdown continues for my next AirSoft game (about 3 weeks) I’m going to try and get my brother & brother-in-laws to play!
I’ve updated the WRESTLING page to include the results of TNA No Surrender - I could have done them last week - but I wanted to watch it in case I felt the need to comment!…..not really!
I also got Star Wars: Force Unleashed the other day and I managed to get a couple of hours in playing that. I enjoyed it, but I can see how it wouldn’t be to everyones taste. I think it plays slightly like Marvels Ultimate Alliance, but I like the way the force and lightsaber moves work! Two player duels are ok, but seem like a bolt on!
I am waiting for Fifa 09 to come out on the Wii though!
This week continues my madness in getting everything packed away so the builders can come in and do the work. I have to get the council round so I can get a tax discount, suspend my TV/Internet?Phone account with Virgin and cancel the milk.
